A treasure trove of hard soul -- from one of the greatest lost bands of the 60s! Soul Brother 6 are probably best known for their minor hit "Some Kind Of Wonderful", which was issued by Atlantic as a 45 in 1967 -- but this set shows the band in a completely different vein, mixing heavier funk and harder soul into a killer Funkadelphia sound, originally issued by the Phil-La Of Soul label back in the early 70s. Those recordings have always been some of the hardest to come by on the label -- and the bulk of them are finally brought back to light on this excellent 18 track CD. The group's great throughout the set, and given the quality of the material, the CD's already in heavy rotation at the DGA headquarters!
