Impressions, The - Come To My Party (1979)

During the late 70s, most of the earlier Chicago soul artists had to make a bit of a nod to disco, and the Impressions were no exception. This album's probably the closest they ever got -- and although it's got some weak moments, there are also some good harmonies still intact, which are produced well by Carl Davis. As usual with this sort of LP, the best cuts are the mellow ones -- like "All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You", "Maybe I'm Mistaken", and "I Could Never Make You Stay".
